Apple goes to meal-prep company Prepear over its ‘similar’ logo

It’s not apples and apples for gadget maker Apple.

The Silicon Valley tech giant is looking to block a flying food company from using a pearl logo by arguing that its fruity design is too similar to the iconic apple brand.

Prepear’s logo, which has a pair with a leaf on the top, “easily mentions Apple’s famous Apple logo and creates a similar commercial impression,” the tech giant said in a court statement, adding that the agreements “the average consumer will cause belief” that Prepear is “affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.”

Super Healthy Kids – the company behind the Prepear app, which allows people to store recipes and make meal plans – has accused Apple of abusing its position of power by going to small businesses like ours that are already struggling with the effects of Covid -19. ”

The startup launched a Change.org campaign over the weekend in hopes of getting Apple back, saying it had to lay off an employee because of the legal fees it had already incurred.

“It’s a very horrible experience to be legally attacked by one of the largest companies in the world, even if we have clearly done nothing wrong,” reads the campaign, which already has more than 25,000 signatures.

Super Healthy Kids said it will fight Apple “not just to keep our logo, but to send a message to big tech companies that bullying has affected small businesses.”

A representative for Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Post.
