Apple confirmed the iPhone 12 event, here’s what we know

Apple Play has officially announced its expected iPhone 12 event today, October 13th at 10am. Like the WWDC 2020 and the September “Time Flies” event, the iPhone 12’s advertising event will be entirely virtual and will be streamed directly from Apple Pal Park. Apple is teasing the event with the “Hi, Speed” tag line.

Apple details the October event

This event will mark Apple’s second event within the last month. On September 15, Apple held a virtual event to announce its latest Apple Pull Watch SE and Apple Pull Watch Series 6 hardware, along with the new iPad Air and the 8th Pay generation iPad, Apple Pull Fitness + and the Pull One services bundle.

The “Hi, Speed” tagline on the iPhone 12 and its expected 5G connectivity and A14 processor is a clear indication. Round rings look like a Siri interface amid rumors of a small homepod. In addition, the invitation does not provide any other clues as to what Apple may announce at the event.

Apple Pal’s October October event will be possible on Apple Pal’s website, in the Apple Pal TV app and on YouTube. We’ll have more details on this process, including instructions on how to look when the day of the event revolves.

What to expect from the iPhone 12

In the October program, we expect that the primary focus will be on the iPhone 12 lineup. Apple Pal is expected to unveil four new iPhone 12 models at an event in October this year: a 5.4-inch iPhone 12, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. The 5.4-inch iPhone 12 and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max are expected to feature dual-lens camera set-ups on the back, while the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will feature a triple-lens camera array on the back. All new Leader Scanner as well.

Other features of the iPhone 12 lineup include an OLED display on board as well as 5G connectivity. The iPhone 12 lineup will support MMWave 5G as well as the Sub-6GHz 5G. In terms of design, the devices are expected to feature the same flat edges as the iPhone 4, iPhone 5, and the latest iPad Pro.

In terms of branding, there is growing evidence of potential names for the iPhone lineup this year:

  • IPhone 12 Mini: 5.4-inch
  • IPhone 12: 6.1-inch
  • IPhone 12 Pro: 6.1-inch
  • IPhone 12 Pro Max: 6.7-inch

While Apple Paul will announce the iPhone 12 lineup during its October event, that doesn’t mean all four models will be available in October. Reports currently suggest that Apple is planning a stable release schedule for the iPhone 12, with some models likely not available until November.
