Apex Legends season 6 gameplay trailer shows Rampart and new map changes

Apex Legends‘new season is almost here and ahead of the release new week, Respawn has finally shown some gameplay. The season 6 trailer for gameplay was released on Friday, and it gave us our first real glimpse of Rampart in action, as well as a look at some of the map changes coming to the Apex Games.

The trailer starts with Rampart setting up her turret and shooting everything on site. We’ve seen her turret a few times before, but this is the first time we have a real sense of how much damage it can do in the game. We also see a few more shields, which Rampart actually put up, seem to confirm that they are one of their capabilities.

As for the map, a few new fortifications have been added to various areas around the world Edge, though we’ll probably have to wait for the full release to see all that has changed. There’s also a brief look at the new creation system that allows players to create the guns they want, instead of just waiting to find them on the map. The trailer also rolls through a few of the new skins that players can expect in the new battle pass, which looks better than just about every battle pass in the game so far.

Finally, there’s a brief tease at the end of the trailer with Blisk, the founder of the Apex Games, letting everyone know that “something big is on the horizon”, before the trailer zooms out for a rocket to reveal in the background. There are a million ways to interpret such a vague reveal, but the live reveal chat of the trailer on YouTube was quick to speculate that it may mean that season 7 will involve a whole new map.

Of course, it’s just speculation now. Apex Legends‘Sixth season is set to start on August 18, and Rampart should be released at the same time.
