Apex Legends April 20 patch notes: Devotion nerf, Rampart fixes, more

Respawn is releasing a new update for Apex Legends that will address a few bugs with Rampart, while also urging the Devotion after its transition to being available as a groundbreaker.

Apex Legends Season 6 is jam packed with new content that has delighted its player base overall. A new weapon, new Legend, and great additions to the sides of the world have kept everyone pretty busy.

Unfortunately, not everything went smoothly. Streamers, pro players, and others have raised concerns about the now standard Evo Shields around the map as well as the general weapon meta in Season 6.

The devs listen to the community and distribute patches as they see fit, and this time it has to go a long way to fix early issues in the season.

Rampart tune-ups

Season 6 premiered with a bang, as the Apex community took pretty nicely to new Legend, Rampart. However, the game base noticed that their ability set included a few bugs that made them horrible to play, most of which are now patched.

This included glitches such as their Amped Cover walls allowing people in certain instances to detach from the game, and even their “Boom” final line is played from across the map.

Due to the popularity of the new Legend, these issues have become widespread in many games, so the devs make sure to tackle them as soon as possible.

Rampart was met with a ton of fanfare, but she came packed with a few bugs.

Dedication LMG nerf

The Devotion’s switch from exclusive to drop drops until now, as deepening by the light machine gun ruled chaos on opponents.

Respawn aims to tackle this immediately by giving the rifle more recoil, while lightly repairing the damage. These changes are not intended to kill the livability of the LMG, but it will make the rifle more affordable to handle now that it is widely available.

The studio said there could be more patches to the Devotion as a rule, as they monitor their performance in the Arena.

The Devotion LMG gets a slight nerve after becoming grounded.
