Okoli’s late replacement breaks down Jizuski

Cruiserweight Lawrence O’Connell did a quick job of Nicodem Jezevsky, who led him to a second-round TKO at the SSE Arena in Wembley, England on Saturday. Floored three times in the win.

For Okoli, who is now awaiting a world title shot, this was an inconvenient fight he just had to face. Gzewski (19-1-1, 11 KO) was a last-minute replacement after Ozoli called for his first world title attempt against Chrysostof Glowaki. But Okoli faced a change in his opponent’s end from Applomb.

“I will be the United World Champion in 2021,” Oakley of London said after the fight.

Former world titleist Glowaki tested positive for COVID-19, and his fellow Polish fighter Jezuski stepped in with a week’s notice, but without the WBO Cruiserweight World title on the line.

Ocoly, 27, of London (15-0, 13 KOs), managed by unified heavyweight titleist Anthony Joshua, has shown he has heavyweight power. Ol Koli flicked Jezuski twice in the first round, first with a shot d shot, then scrambled with a straight right before putting Gezewski down again.

Okoli predicted Izuski again in the second round with his right hand straight to the jaw, and the fight stopped.

“Glokey, [WBC champion Ilunga] Macabu, [Mairis] Eddie Harney of the matchroom, who promoted Ochili, said Bridis would go through the full cruiserweight division before Okoli went to heavyweight.

Oakley ranks second with the WBO Governing Body, their highest ranking among the four organizations, and has yet to fight for the world title.

Fury overcame the bad cut, dominating the watch

Hughy Fury, a cousin of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, unanimously cut the upper part of his left eye due to an accidental head-butt to outpoint Marius Watch 100-190 (twice) and 100-91 in a heavyweight 10-round bout.

Despite the injury, Fury continued his attack and was rewarded with a worthy victory to continue his pace towards a future world title fight.

The 26-year-old Fury (25-3, 14 KOs) from Manchester, England, is hoping for a world title with a close decision to defeat Alexander Povetkin in 2019, Kubrat Pulev in 2018 and Joseph Parker in 2017.

Hughes has made several rounds with Tyson, who has a similar height and reaches 40 years of watch (36-4, 19 KOs) from Poland, and was comfortable being aggressive against a larger opponent.

Fury aggressively started the fourth round, well under control, but ended up in danger of stopping the round after a ringside doctor was called in to investigate the cut.

The watch, which weighs 27 pounds more than the Fury, is much longer than its surprise days when it took a distance from Vladimir Klitschko in a failed world title attempt eight years ago, but it still had to extend the Fury to full distance.

Bakol outplayed Kuzmin to win the unanimous decision

Heavyweight Martin Beckell won the 10-round unanimous decision, knocking Sergey Kuzin nicely without taking too many risks. The three judges recorded the battle of Bakole (98-92, 97-93 and 96-94).

Bakole (15-1, 12 KOs), who is from the Democratic Republic of Congo but now lives in Scotland, is Joshua’s spraying partner. He has now amassed five consecutive wins since being stopped by Michael Hunter in 2018.

Russia’s Kuzmin (15-1, 11 Koo), lost to Hunter in his previous fight 33, 15 months ago, but gave Bakole a close fight, catching Bakole with the right hand in the last round. But Bakole’s jab proved to be key throughout the fight and ultimately led him to victory.
