Animal Crossing: New Horizons players discover an alternative ‘4th level’ solution

Animal Crossing New Horizons Terraforming

One of the most popular failures you can make in Animal Crossing: New Horizons It’s the ‘go up to the fourth level’ trick that, as you can probably guess, allows you to build and go up to a fourth level of terrain. Players can usually only walk on three levels, using terraforming to create them and stairs, slopes, or steps to navigate them.

Tricks to reach a fourth banned level have been around for some time, but the most popular methods for doing so recently were patched in the Version 1.3 update. However, it doesn’t seem to matter how much Nintendo tries to prevent players from getting there, because fans have found another way that still works at the time of writing.

The folks at Animal Crossing World have detailed exactly how to pull off the new trick: You’ll need a little patience to achieve the ultra-precise terraforming shapes, as well as a few expertly programmed button presses. If you want to try it out, keep in mind that while you can fully decorate the fourth level, Nintendo may very well patch this new method, forcing you to lose access to any item or plant you place there.
