Animal Crossing: New Horizon camera glitch is fixed again, as a feature

Animal Crossing: New Horizons The second summer update was released on Wednesday night, bringing new seasonal items and fireworks to the game. Another highly anticipated feature was also added, the ability to back up saved data in an emergency. But that’s not all: the players who started the game were shocked and excited to find that Nintendo added back on a feature that was once repaired.

In early July, Nintendo fixed a technical issue that allowed players to turn off the New Horizons HUD while using the in-game camera app. Players were annoyed: Content creators and others used this feature to record clear, professional videos, a must-do for creating realistic trailers for the Animal Crossing genre. However, now, failure is a feature.

“A new feature has been added to the NookPhone Camera app, which allows you to disable guide information by pressing the R Stick,” Nintendo wrote in its patch notes. Two new in-game pop-up windows are now available as a reminder, one of which notes that players “cannot turn off the guide when using the horizontal grip alone on a Joy-Con controller.”

You can see it in action below:

Players are excited to see the feature again in New Horizons – There is justice for user created videos once again. For some, it gives players hope that other quality-of-life changes, such as stacking items, will eventually be incorporated into the game.
