From popular mechanics
- A new paper wonders whether solar flare activity contributes to drowning No. Titanic.
- The sun emits huge solar storms that can knock out power on Earth.
- The right (wrong) type of solar flares can interfere with navigation And Radio affects the route of the Titanic as well as the rescue response.
“Data-reacted =” 37 “> when we think we know everything there TitanicUnsinkable ship, huge iceberg, “I am the king of the world,” etc. With that comes exciting new research that raises big questions about what really happened on the awful night of April 14, 1912. Really the reason Titanic Drowning?
The idea is very simple. The sun, which runs on millions of degrees of congenital atomic dynamos, is covered with sunspots. This, in turn, is interrupted by huge explosions the size of the Earth or so larger: solar flares.
NASA explains, “In a matter of minutes, they heat up the material to millions of degrees and release billions of megatons of TNT energy. These flares are often caused by magnetic changes or crashes and their eruptions cause a magnetic wave through the solar system.
It makes instinctive sense that the hottest thing in the solar system experiences extreme reactions to change the gloss and magnetic field. One reason why the Earth is a successful habitat for living things is that humans have a protective magnetic field that reflects a great deal of solar radiation and cosmic wind that would otherwise push us to the surface of planets like bald, inanimate, Mars.
