An FIR has been registered against his sister Kangana Ranaut over the tweets Hindi Movie News

Mumbai police on Saturday registered an FIR against actor Kangana Ranaut and his sister Rangoli Chandel on charges of inciting animosity between different communities and other charges following a local court order. A Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court has ordered police to investigate a complaint filed by Munawar Ali Syed, casting director and fitness trainer of Leewood, citing tweets and other statements by Ranaut and his sister.

At the direction of the court, Bandra police registered a first information report against Ranaut and his sister Rangoli Chandel under section 153A (hostility between different groups on the basis of religion, caste, etc.), 295A (intentional acts of insulting religious sentiments) and 124-A. (Treason), a police official said.

According to Syed’s lawyer, the complaint alleges that Ranaut has been defaming Bollywood for the past two months through his tweets and television interviews, calling it a ‘center of nepotism’, ‘favoritism’ and so on.

He also made ‘very offensive’ remarks, which not only hurt his religious sentiments, but also the feelings of many artists and he was trying to divide the artists on sectarian lines, the plaintiff said.

“His sister has also made offensive comments on social media to spread sectarian tensions between the two religious groups,” he said.

The Metropolitan Magistrate said in an order on Friday that the accused had committed the first ‘cognitive offense’, and directed the police to initiate necessary proceedings and investigation against the actor and his sister.

“The allegation is based on comments on electronic media Twitter and interviews and requires a thorough investigation by an expert,” the court said. The court said.

The complaint also referred to Ranaut’s tweet where she referred to Mumbai as ‘POK’ (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) and which led to a public brawl with the ruling Shiv Sena in Maharashtra.
