An asteroid is on possible collision course with Earth this November: Should we be worried?

As if that were not enough to think about these days, now there is talk of an asteroid, which will probably go directly towards Earth!

Well, there’s an asteroid and it’s going in our general direction, maybe it’s not good with us – but that does not stop some from worrying.

A flying space object known as 2018 VP1 is currently speeding through our solar system, and arrives near us in early November. An internet video, along with a few web articles, have created a bit of buzz for those looking for this kind of information.

Look, now that we can all look at NASA star charts, and something called “JPL Small-Body Database Browser”, anyone can be an astronaut. Well, almost everyone. I clicked through the pages and could not figure it out. I found one that though, and his insight into space, asteroids, and 2018 VP1 of 2018 were not much more useful.

Michael Narlock is the head of astronomy at the Cranbrook Institute of Science. I got the chance to ask him about the “impending doom” that rumbled that we were going our way. (Watch the full video and story in the player above)
