AMC is reopening these theaters this month with 15-cent tickets

The world’s largest cinema for movie theater will reopen more than 100 American theaters on August 20, the company said on Thursday. To commemorate its 100th anniversary, AMC is offering “films in 2020 at awards in 1920.” That’s 15 cents a ticket.
AMC closed all its theaters in the US in March when the pandemic took hold, and the reopening has been delayed several times.
AMC (AMC) added that it expects two-thirds of its more than 600 U.S. theaters to open by the time Christopher Nolan’s thriller “Tenet” hits theaters on Sept. 3. AMC’s other U.S. theaters will open “only after authorization to do so by state and local officials, “according to the company.

AMC said it is implementing new safety and health measures to keep filmgoers safe and limit the spread of coronavirus. This includes the obligation of all guests to wear masks, reduce theater capacity and upgrade ventilation systems.

After the opening day, tickets will still be available for cheaper than usual. Tickets for movies like “Inception”, “Black Panther”, “Back to the Future” and “The Empire Strikes Back” cost $ 5. AMC is bringing back old movies because so many new movies have been postponed this year due to the outbreak.

The company, which was founded in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1920, also offers discounts on concessions such as popcorn for $ 5 by the end of October.

“We are excited to reopen our doors to American filmmakers who are looking for an opportunity to get out of their homes and apartments and escape the magic of film,” said Adam Aron, CEO of AMC, on Thursday in a statement.

'Mulan' is finally on its way to Disney + ... for $ 30

The theater chain announced in June that it would reopen on July 15, but was postponed to July 30 due to a shortage of films offered by studios. It was delayed again last month until mid to late August.

But now it appears that AMC will finally reopen, as some new movies such as Disney’s “New Mutants” on August 28 and “Tenet” on September 3, at least for now, will be released.

One notable absence of AMC’s reopened lineup of movies is Disney’s “Mulan.” Disney announced earlier this month that the remake of the 1998 animated classic in theaters and Disney + would hit on September 4th.
