Alabama’s 104-year-old World War P te Covid-19 survives

Major Lee Wooten of World War II recovered from the virus last week in Madison, Alabama. Madison Hospital staff gave him a special leave when he was discharged on Tuesday, two days before his birthday.

In a video shared by the hospital, healthcare workers lined up next to Hathaway, singing “Happy Birthday” and applauding Wooten, also known as “Pop Pop Pop”.
According to the CNN affiliate WFF, Wooten has served in the US Army overseas for many years. He built railroads and worked on railway cars in Paris in 1940.
Her granddaughter Holly Wooten Maddonald posted on Facebook updates about her recovery. Wuten requested a chocolate milkshake on his way home from the hospital.

He wrote, “I wish the poppie would get the mask by pulling the mask over his nose, so that he gets the milkshake as quickly as possible.”

McDonald’s writes that there is an atmosphere of confusion and fatigue as Wooten returns home.
The 104-year-old’s birthday surprise continued throughout the week. On Saturday, McDonald’s shared on Facebook that family, friends, neighbors and others in the community took part in a drive-by parade to celebrate.
In the videos, Wooten is seen sitting on a chair near the open window of the house as the car passes. About 50 cars and neighbors took part, McDonald said.
“In addition to beating COVID and releasing him from the hospital; today was another highlight of his week!” He posted on Facebook. “I can’t describe this honor when I say words, when I speak for the whole family and friends, this man has to know. Being his granddaughter is the greatest blessing of life.”

After the parade, Wooten, a longtime Crimson Tide fan, led the Alabama football team to LSU. Delighted to land on the Tigers.

“When I think Popp Popp doesn’t know what’s going on, he’s recovering from covid; he woke up in the morning waiting for his breakfast and said, ‘What is Channel Football? I want to watch the game!’ Photo of Wooten watching the game posted with McDonald’s.
