JOHANNESBURG – The state capture commission said Jacob Zuma’s decision to disobey a subpoena ordering him to appear in the investigation demonstrated that he considered himself above the law and the Constitution.
The Zondo Commission has reacted to Zuma’s comments in an overnight statement.
He points out that on the one hand, Zuma refuses to comply with the Constitution by disobeying the ruling of the Supreme Court, but on the other hand, he continues to enjoy all the economic benefits that the Constitution grants him as former president, paid by the taxpayer.

On Monday, Zuma published a list of what he called injustices against him, criticizing the Constitutional Court’s findings that he should appear in the investigation.
Zuma described the ruling as extraordinary and unprecedented.
He compared the high court to the courts of the apartheid era, and complained that the decision to force him to attend and give answers undermined his rights.
