JOHANNESBURG – Former Eskom chairman Zola Tsotsi said on Tuesday he was present when the idea of an investigation and suspension of executives was hatched at former chairman Jacob Zuma’s home in Nkandla, run by Dudu Myeni.
The commission asked former CEO Tshediso Matona about the meeting, that consultant Nicholas Linell got rid of an affidavit and Linell’s affidavit that said he was tasked with drafting the board resolution for Tsotsi.
Now Tsotsi confirms that Myeni said that Linell did the same for her when she was chair of the board of South African Airways and that he could do the same for Eskom.
Tsotsi said Myeni led the meeting and said which executives should be suspended.
“… And the discussion was primarily led by her on what are the issues that are causing concern with Eskom’s performance.”
