CAPE TOWN – Zane Kilian was added Tuesday as the sixth defendant in the attempted murder of a well-known Cape Town defense attorney.

Kilian, who was arrested for the murder of police detective Charl Kinnear last month, now faces more charges related to William Booth’s failed attempt.

He appeared at the Cape Town Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.

At least 10 heavily armed members of the Anti-Gang Unit carried Kilian to the dock.

Kilian, whose hands were handcuffed in front of his body, wore a black hoodie and black-rimmed glasses.

Kilian has been charged with attempted murder, a gang-related crime, conspiracy to commit murder and illegal wiretapping.

Eric Ntabazalila from the National Prosecutor’s Office said: “The matter was postponed to November 10; if you request the bond, the State will oppose the bond against you ”.

The defense has requested consolidation of the charges for a bond hearing to be held in a single session on November 27.
