JOHANNESBURG – The National Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the coach of the Zambia national soccer team, Milutin Sredojevic (51), appeared before the New Brighton Magistrates Court on Friday on charges of sexual assault.
In a statement, the NPA said a woman was allegedly assaulted on Monday, December 7, during the Cosafa Games in Port Elizabeth.
“A 39-year-old woman was delivering coffee at Wolfson Stadium when she asked Sredojevic if she would need sugar with her coffee,” it read.
“He allegedly said no and revealed that he needed another type of sugar while pointing out his private parts. It is alleged that the lady complained to her boss, who in turn warned Sredojevic not to do it again.
“Later that day, the lady went to deliver coffee again at the same stadium and this time Sredojevic allegedly touched her buttocks.”
Sredojevic was granted bail of 10,000 rand and his next court appearance will be on February 25, 2021.
