Timothy Wilks is dead. I was 20 years old.
According to a press release, the YouTuber was shot and killed in a trampoline park parking lot on Friday, February 5.
In a bogus robbery prank gone wrong, Timothy and a friend allegedly approached a group of people with butcher knives. The YouTuber was shot by David Starnes Jr., who claimed he pulled the trigger in self-defense, “unaware” of the joke, he reports. IT IS! News.
The incident is under investigation and no charges have been brought against David Starnes Jr.
This isn’t the first time a YouTube joke has gone terribly wrong. According to CNNLast year, YouTubers Alan and Alex Stokes were charged with false imprisonment and beatings after pretending to rob a bank, dressed in black and carrying duffel bags, and stealing an Uber driver’s car. The police arrived at the scene and ended up detaining the driver, who did not know he was the driver of the escape, at gunpoint.
