Microsoft has announced a price increase for its Xbox Game Pass subscription service for PC in South Africa.
In an email sent to subscribers, the company noted that the program was coming out of its beta period and ending the launch price.
As of September 17, the monthly subscription fee for the service has gone from R49 to R99.

Existing subscribers will continue to pay the current subscription fee for the next month, and the price change will go into effect on October 17, 2020.
New registrants can still try Xbox Game Pass for PC for a month at a reduced price of R15.90.
There have been no changes to the fees for the standard Xbox Games Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which are still priced at R99 and R149, respectively.
EA Play will be added
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Game Pass subscription plans for PC are also available configured to include the EA Play library for the 2020 holiday season (November or December).
EA Play is Electronic Arts’ subscription-based gaming service, which has replaced their previous Origin Access and EA Access plans.
