Meanwhile, the chairman of the SABC board, Bongumusa Makhathini, has denied that the communications minister has not known anything about the restructuring.

On Tuesday, staff confronted management over job losses.
“The truth of the matter is that management met with the department and the National Treasury on a monthly basis to update them on a number of things. It is not entirely correct that no update has been given on this matter. But of course, we informed the minister quarterly, “Makhathini said.
