This as the province is dealing with more than 10,000 active cases of COVID-19.

Winde believes that the Level 1 restrictions are sufficient and that everyone must play their role to stop the spread of COVID-19, including preventing large gatherings.

“We have to focus on the outdoors and slash the numbers and that’s on everything we do for the next 30 days,” Winde said.

“We need to make sure family functions and end-of-the-year parties have to be changed. We definitely need to reduce those numbers.”

At the same time, it encourages vacationers to stick with their plans, use common sense and be responsible.
