Company spokesman Benedict Maaga said they approached Moeng last week to discuss the matter. He said that when programs are commissioned from producers, the company “gets a commitment that all intellectual property rights in relation to the program have been approved.”

Maaga said the remaining shows will be held in flight.

Legal battle

TshisaLIVE saw a demand letter addressed to MultiChoice, stating that Somizi and Moeng agreed in 2015 that the program was “commercially viable” and should continue.

Moeng’s attorney says his client wants MultiChoice to acknowledge the theft of his client’s intellectual property.

Nkululeko told SowetanLIVE that his legal team is handling the matter.
