What is the adjusted level 3 lock? – The citizen

With President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement Monday night that the country is moving towards a tight level 3 lockdown starting at midnight, South Africans are seeking clarity on what this entails.

The country last experienced a level 3 lockdown in May 2020 when government regulations included a ban on alcohol consumption in bars and restaurants, but allowed religious gatherings and exercise in public.

This time, however, all gatherings have been banned for a 14-day period in an attempt to slow the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

While the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) and the Minister of Cooperative Governance, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, the Minister of Health, Zweli Mkhize, and the Minister of Bheki Cele will offer a briefing on Tuesday to discuss restrictions and regulations, this is what is known so far:

There will be an extended curfew.

The sale of alcohol is prohibited.

It is mandatory to wear a mask in public.

Several hot spots were added to the list of existing areas of concern, with the economic center of the country included.
