Police have been able to piece together the first firm details of how Motjeka Madisha lost her life on Sunday. Preliminary investigations into the car accident are underway and some initial results have already emerged.
Motjeka Madisha: What caused the car accident?
According to police officers at the scene, the occupants of the vehicle, including another 25-year-old along with the defender of Mamelodi Sundowns, died moments after the incident. Paramedics were unable to save any of the deceased, and five key facts have been established by authorities so far:
- The incident occurred at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.
- It is understood that BMW crashed when the driver “lost control”.
- Then the vehicle crashed into a billboard and the impact was devastating.
- The car in which Motjeka Madisha was riding caught fire. This would ultimately claim the lives of both occupants.
- The driver was trapped inside and the passenger was found next to the car. They both suffered severe burns.
Details of the Sundowns star’s last moments released
Ekurhuleni emergency services were the first to respond and revealed that the fire engulfed the car within seconds of its impact with the billboard. A recently released statement confirmed the details mentioned above:
“From what the police have gathered thus far, preliminary evidence suggests that the accident occurred shortly after 1:30 in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 13, 2020. The driver allegedly lost control of the BMW 1 series and was crashed into a billboard post on Zuurfontein Road in Chloorkop in Ekurhuleni. “
“The car caught fire and the driver who was trapped inside died in it, while the passenger, whose body was partially burned, was found next to the car and he was also pronounced dead at the scene by the Ekurhuleni Emergency Services.”
