West Indian spinner Sunil narine has been denounced for suspicious bowling action in the Indian Premier League during his team Kolkata Knight Riders’ narrow victory on Saturday.

Narine stood out with figures of 2-28 from his four overs from his mystery spin to drown out the 165 chase of Kings XI Punjab as Kolkata won by two runs in the day’s opener in Abu Dhabi.

“The report was made by the umpires on the field (Ulhas Gandhe and Chris Gaffaney) in accordance with the IPL Illegal Bowling Alleged Action Policy,” said an IPL statement.

“Mr. Narine will be placed on the Warning List and will be allowed to continue bowling in the tournament.”

Another report for Narine, 32, will make him ineligible to bowling at the Twenty20 tournament until approved by the Cricket Control Board in India’s Suspicious Bowling Action Committee.

Narine has been reported for diving multiple times during his nine-year international career and was banned from bowling by the International Cricket Council in 2015, but he came back with a remodeled action.

But his action came under scrutiny again in the 2018 Pakistan Super League.
