JOHANNESBURG – Lobbyist AfriForum said on Friday that it had found more incriminating evidence against the alleged mastermind of the Senzo Meyiwa case.
The group was present at the Boksburg Magistrates Court on Friday, where the five men accused of killing Meyiwa made a brief appearance.
Meyiwa was killed in the home of his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo in 2014, in what was said to be a robbery.
AfriForum defender Gerrie Nel said Friday’s court proceedings were disappointing as he thought the mastermind of Meyiwa’s murder would be arrested.
“I am disappointed, last time I reiterated that I thought we had enough and bring the brain to court.”
But he said the arrest would occur before the next court appearance: “But what I can reveal is that I was informed by the police, they informed me and I had contact with the NPA, while I am here we have more evidence in the master mind than last time. It is a fact. Then the police discovered more evidence, which strengthened the case for the arrest of the brain. “
The matter was postponed until March 2021 to allow the prosecution to complete its forensic investigation.
