JOHANNESBURG – Following Black Panther Upon the death of star Chadwick Boseman, veteran South African actor John Kani praised the 43-year-old for his bravery and described him as a son.

Although Boseman never spoke publicly about his diagnosis, he worked on his treatment for much of his career and continued to make Hollywood blockbusters.

The film became one of the highest grossing and was nominated for six Oscars, including Best Picture.
