Van Gaal claims Rashford has hinted at Manchester United’s departure

Louis van Gaal has claimed that Marcus Rashford has hinted at a possible departure from Manchester United in the future.

Louis van Gaal handed Marcus Rashford his Manchester United debut in 2016. And although the Dutch manager is no longer at Old Trafford, that remains one of his greatest contributions to the club during his two years there.

Rashford has grown by leaps and bounds since then and is now one of the club’s best players. Despite being only 23 years old, the Englishman has already played 234 games for the Red Devils, scoring 79 goals and providing 45 assists.

And if you stay at Old Trafford for a long time, there’s no reason why you can’t make some records fall. Van Gaal seems to believe that the player has hinted that he is open to leaving the club in the future. As reported by the Mirror, the former Manchester United manager said:

“I admire him for being such an honest and pure guy. It comes from an area where things are difficult.

“And the way he’s fighting for the underprivileged kids is wonderful. He does many things for the community. He’s a great kid.

“I enjoyed hearing him say that he hopes to play for United for a long, long time.

But I listened carefully. And he didn’t say he would never play for another club. ”

However, this is an extreme form of reading between the lines of Van Gaal. And to be very honest, Rashford cannot be expected to rule out leaving the club entirely.

He is only 23 years old and nobody knows what the future holds. Soccer is a sport where things change very fast. And although he is one of the best stars at Old Trafford right now, there is no guarantee that things will not change in the future.

As a result, it is smart of you to keep all options open. That’s just the life of a professional footballer. However, at the moment, there is no doubt that he is a Manchester United player and is completely dedicated to the club. He is one of the most consistent players right now alongside Bruno Fernandes and it is a big reason why they have managed to bounce back from a disastrous start to the season and are now near the top of the Premier League table.
