The police finally made a breakthrough, six years after the soccer player was shot and killed in Vosloorus.

CAPE TOWN / JOHANNESBURG – The five men arrested in connection with the killing of Senzo Meyiwa on Tuesday refused to enter the pier.
They were ushered into the courtroom but refused to comply, arguing that they did not commit the crime and that the police were using them to protect those actually responsible for Meyiwa’s murder.
One of the suspects claims they were arrested in August, while another told the court that they want the media present to capture what he calls the bully in this murder case.
Defendant number four said he did not see the need for a lawyer because he did not kill Captain Bafana.
The suspects have been named as pregnant Muzikawuk S’themba Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Ziphozonke Maphosa, Sifokuhle Nkani Ntuli.

Senior police officers are confident they have a strong case against the five suspects who were arrested Monday.
National Police Commissioner Khehla Sitole said the person who pulled the trigger had been linked to the murder through forensic and ballistic evidence.
“One of them is suspected of having pulled the trigger in the case. Second, this case is supported by forensic evidence. “

Police Minister Bheki Cele said the long-awaited arrests are expected to help shut down the Meyiwa family a bit.
“We remain confident that these arrests are the beginning of a closure for Senzo Meyiwa’s family, friends and millions of South Africans.”
Frustrated that no arrests had been made for years, the family turned to the private prosecution unit of pressure group AfriForum to investigate the murder as well.

The unit claims that Meyiwa’s murder was not a robbery gone wrong, but a hit.
AfriForum defender Gerrie Nel is confident that the person who pulled the trigger and killed Meyiwa will be among the group of five suspects arriving at the Boksburg pier Tuesday morning.
He believes the police have a strong case: “When they appear in court today, a lot of people will understand it more, a lot of people will agree with us that we are dealing with a coup and hope that more people will pressure the South. African Police and National Tax Authority to target the brain. “
