‘Uncharted’ is a perfect globetrotting break from quarantine

This quarantine has left me incredibly overwhelmed and anxious, so if you give me an open world map to explore now, as in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey or HZDI’m going to end up wasting my time looking for side quests and looking for secrets, with nothing more than a few decorations of achievement to show. But with this game, there is always a goal; where to go, some switch to activate, some bad to shoot. Unlike our real lives, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel in Unexplored.

Also, these games act as a window to the world for me. Although I’ve been looking at the same set of walls for the past few weeks, Drake is free to leap from Borneo’s smoking jungles to secret Nazi bases in the South Pacific in the blink of an eye. At one point he is infiltrating the National Gallery of Turkey, and the next he is fighting a car on a train passing through the mountains of Nepal. Fight zombies and abominable snowmen. I have a cat that generally ignores me.

The only time Nathan Drake wears a face mask is when he keeps the sand out of his mouth while venturing into the Sahara. He is constantly surrounded by people, none of whom are practicing social distancing. He even shakes hands. Oh, I am so envious.
