Cape Town – The leader of the recently established United Independent Movement (UIM) Neil de Beer has challenged EFF commander-in-chief Julius Malema to a public debate on the country’s economy.

De Beer said Monday that that debate with the EFF was pertinent as the country’s economy is coming under pressure and the EFF claims to be fighting for economic freedom.

He said that the current approach was quite skewed towards racism and that the state of the economy appears to be ignored.

“Mr. Malema, today I challenge you to an open debate … you choose the venue and I will come and have an open public debate with you on a stage anytime, anywhere, on any day … We should discuss a subject that perhaps you should study and that is the return of peace, hope, reconciliation and the economy of this country, “he said.

In his response, EFF spokesman Vuyani Pambo said frankly: “The CIC cannot legitimize a non-entity, a political activist whose illusions have led him to openly fantasize about taking to the political arena using the CIC name. and the EFF, which is the fastest growing political party; that is going to be the government ”.

The UIM is not a registered political party but a social, economic and political movement that supports the country’s independent candidacy program.

De Beer, a former ANC national security adviser and business magnate, recently joined forces with former DA Mmusi Maimane, who leads the One South Africa movement. De Beer is also a former intelligence agent for Umkhonto weSizwe and, more recently, special adviser to the Deputy Minister of Defense and Military Veterans.

UIM says in its manifesto: “We are relentless patriots who believe in our country and our people. A home for everyone. We put South Africa first in our hearts, minds, thoughts and actions.

“We understand that we need to live and breathe this for a truly united and prosperous South Africa. We serve our country with honor, we treat our people with dignity, we defend our constitution with respect ”.

De Beer said that an attack on the country’s justice system, the judiciary and law enforcement was an attack on the citizens of the country and this was the reason why the UIM would launch a strategy, not an attack on an individual. or an attack on an organization. .

“This is an attack on those who are not following the constitutional protection of giving justice to our citizens,” he said.

Included in the UIM strategy, according to De Beer is a written presentation with a request to meet with the president of the parliament “where we will present a dossier, dossier and factual evidence that EFF members, Mr. Julius Malema and Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlosi has been speaking with hate speech, violence and violating the oath of parliament that they swore to uphold.

“We are going to ask that they be removed from office as parliamentarians, that they are being punished and that urgent judicial measures be taken, from the parliament.”

De Beer said that they would also send an appeal to Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng requesting that all current court files against EFF members be merged into a single case with all charges.

“This should be a public hearing so that citizens have the peace of mind that people who speak of hatred, murder and destruction will be brought to justice.”

The UIM will also address the president and the Minister of Police to request the opening of a judicial investigation to investigate “once and for all the cause of the Agri attacks.”

De Beer condemned the spate of killings in the country, saying the past three weeks had been especially volatile on the issue of attacks on farms, beginning with the cowardly murder of Brendin Horner and everything that followed.

“We as UIM recognize that this has been a long-term issue within the country but it has become something that became the burning of this country’s food supply, it is our opinion as UIM that these are not random fires but more well arson, ”he said.
