DURBAN – Mamelodi Sundowns defender Motjeka Madisha died early Sunday morning after a terrible car accident.
Madisha’s sudden death at the age of 25 has left many in the soccer community in shock, especially since it came just over two weeks after the passing of her former teammate Anele Ngcongca, also in a car accident.
After starting her professional career with M Tigers FC in 2014, Madisha moved on to play for Highlands Park, where she proved her credibility in the top flight. It was only a year before a move to local soccer giants Mamelodi Sundowns was earned in 2016.
Madisha’s death has left the entire country in shock. The 13 international matches of the Bafana Bafana were to become a regular player of the first team of the national team.
Rival clubs and local personalities took to the social media platform Twitter to express their condolences.
