Durban – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of twin boys who drowned in a family home in Kloof Falls, on the KZN Upper West Highway, over the weekend.

According to a spokesperson for Rescue Care, the two-year-old siblings died just before 5 p.m. Saturday.

“Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene and found that the twins had somehow fallen into the family pool. Paramedics evaluated the two and attempted to resuscitate them. However, their attempts were unsuccessful and both children were pronounced deceased in the place, “the spokesperson said. said.

On social media after the horrific incident, the children’s grandfather Ivan Ikes said the twins’ parents had gone to sympathize with another family.

She said the kids, Sebastian and Ethan, had stayed with the babysitter and made it to the pool.

“The boys got up and went outside and somehow, after playing the violin, they got the door to the pool fence to open. One boy fell and the other, after what seemed to call his brother to came out, jumped to save him. They clung to the Kreepy Krawly for as long as they could until they finally succumbed to their fate, “he said.

The drownings were captured by a closed-circuit television camera. The distraught grandfather said that had it not been for the closed-circuit television cameras, they would not have known how the children got into the pool.

“My people, if you have small children at home, forget about the crazy Christmas expenses and invest in cameras. They do not lie,” he said.

According to Rescue Care, police were on the scene and will continue to investigate.
