Trump praises COVID ‘blessing’ on return to Oval Office

But Democrat Joe Biden, who leads Trump in the latest polls before the Nov. 3 vote, attacked the president’s minimization of risk.

“I think it is a tragedy that the president treats COVID as if it is something not to worry about when more than 210,000 people (in the United States) have died,” Biden told reporters.

The president’s behavior, who has faced harsh criticism for his handling of the outbreak, is under scrutiny as the number of positive cases rises among people working in the White House and elsewhere in Washington.

On Wednesday, the Pentagon confirmed that one of the top Marine Corps officers, Gen. Gary Thomas, tested positive for the virus.

In his iconic red tie, Trump attributed his recovery since being diagnosed Thursday and hospitalized Friday to a cocktail of antibodies, an experimental treatment that hasn’t even received an emergency use authorization.

“I want everyone to receive the same treatment as their president, because I feel great,” he said.
