Time to Partey – The Good and the Bad of Arsenal’s Transfer Window

It’s party time! by Konstantin Mitov

Better late than never, am I right, beautiful people at Arsenal? I’m so happy I had a beer if I had one in my fridge… This is a massive signing for multiple reasons.

First of all, what a nice show for our midfield. We finally have a player with rhythm and power who can help us break the rival game and control the central area of the pitch, something we have struggled with a lot.

Secondly, he has been brought up by Simeone, probably one of the best coaches in the world when it comes to getting a result, and this will be of vital importance. We have been much more pragmatic in the last 10 months. We have abandoned the “Arsenal path” for the “winner” path and this will be the case until Arteta gets the players he wants.

Finally, what a great boost for the fans and the players too. We know that our midfield is not good enough and so are Arteta and the players. This is a huge boost for everyone and marks a declaration of intent. We want to go back to the top. It won’t be an easy journey, but we’ll do whatever it takes and sacrifice some of the glitz of our game to get there.

Is it interesting what this does to our training? The introduction of Partey allows us to pair him with Xhaka or Elneny and move Ceballos further up the field if we want to go 4-3-3. Or we can keep the 3 in the back and have Partey and Ceballos in the middle, which is much, much better than Xhaka and Elneny, although I like what Mo has done so far.

This deal honestly saves the transfer window. I think Gabriel was a robbery. It has been a very necessary piece in our defense. Thomas now adds a new dimension to our midfield that we didn’t have before.

If Pepe can summon his performance against Sheffield more often, we are going to something. I enjoyed Auba in the middle with Pepe and Willian on the flanks. It gave us the change we needed to open up Sheffield and we had players who could take on opponents one-on-one.

We don’t have a midfield like City that can dominate the ball, but we have rhythm in our attack and we must take advantage of it. Liverpool did it before buying Fabinho, Keita and others. They literally used to jump the ball to the front three and did the rest. We could have learned something from them because we do too.

Our next game is in Man City and it may be too early to start Partey, but it feels so much better knowing that it is here. They have shown some flaws. If we can be tight from behind, anything can happen.

This is a crazy, crazy season. I was surprised to see Leicester beaten 3: 0 at home to West Ham, but this was a peanut compared to United getting a 6-1 slap from them, and then to the real surprise Villa put Liverpool on the sword with 7 goals!

Soccer is different without fans. It will be a crazy season, but if we make it to the top 4, that will speed us up a lot!

Unfortunately we were unable to unload all the dead wood. Guendouzi, who had so many promises, went to Hertha Berlin. Raw talent doesn’t count unless you follow Arteta’s orders and will be loaned out this season, but you hardly see him return with Mikel at the helm.

We also transferred Torreira to Atlético de Madrid. Thank you for that goal against Tottenham! Otherwise it hasn’t really worked. He did not like England, we expected more, so another player is at least for this season off the salary account.

Speaking of which, it’s sad that Ozil loses 18 million from the club to not play even a minute all season. Who really knows, but I highly doubt Arteta will go soft on him.

Unfortunately, Leverkusen failed to come to terms with Kolasinac, and we are stuck with another high income stream that is not good enough.

Then there are the players whose contracts are exhausted next year like Mustafi, Sokratis who we also couldn’t download and of course Mesut. But think of it that way. Next season, if we make it to the top 4, we’ll have more money to spend and 3 unnecessary high-paid players out the door.

Finally, I would like to thank Arteta for sticking her neck out and trying to be transparent. The club could have endorsed him more as we still need a creative player, but considering we didn’t sell to anyone beyond Martinez and knowing Kroenke, Partey is a gift to all of us and I can’t wait to see him in the red. and white shirt!

Hopefully, you are as excited as I am! Until next time, see you in the comments!
