According to ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring, his paramedics arrived at the scene at 12:49, where they found the boy’s family trying to take him to hospital.

“Doctors took the boy carefully and evaluated him, finding no signs of life. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and advanced life support interventions were immediately started in an effort to revive the boy.

“Unfortunately, after 40 minutes and despite the efforts of the paramedics, no vital signs returned and the child was pronounced dead. The details surrounding this incident are still unknown,” Meiring said.
