Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the execution-style killings of four young men who were shot to death last week in KwaZulu-Natal.

SAPS spokesman Brigadier Jay Naicker said police received the report of the four youths who died on the Zwelibomvu reservation near the Olwambeni primary school sports fields last Saturday. The victims were between 17 and 24 years old and all had been shot in the upper body.

“Information from the community indicated that the men were charged with theft of shares, which may have contributed to their deaths. A murder file was registered at the KwaNdengezi police station and assigned to the Provincial Crime Unit. Organized for their investigation, “Naicker said.

Detectives pounced on the three suspects, ages 46 to 49, at their homes in KwaNdengezi on Friday.

“A 9mm pistol was also seized as part of the investigation. The three men are expected to appear in KwaNdengezi Magistrates Court on Monday for murder. Detectives have not ruled out the possibility of further arrests,” Naicker said.
