For the second time in eleven days, some Vodacom customers have lost their network connection.

The company confirmed that “a problem” is affecting the connectivity of some of its clients.

An analysis by the services monitoring platform Downdetector shows that reports of Vodacom’s downtime increased from just after 2pm on Monday.

Most of the reports on Vodacom outages come from the nation’s largest cities, a Downdetector map shows:

Meanwhile, customers expressed their discontent on social media:

Vodacom experienced a similar outage on November 13, which it also attributed to “a problem” – it never gave more details about what went wrong.

At the time, Vodacom recommended that users turn flight mode on and off and restart their devices. The problem was resolved in a couple of hours.

Vodacom has some 40 million users in South Africa.
