It’s not every day your neighborhood crocodile turns 120, so the Crocworld Conservation Center on the south shore of KZN gave its resident Nile crocodile a reason to smile on Wednesday, December 16 with a proper birthday party. .

James Wittstock, acting manager of the center, said beloved Henry celebrated this milestone with his favorite meat dish, while Crocworld staff and guests enjoyed a slice of birthday cake.

Wittstock said Henry, who is a huge five meter long and 700 kilogram crocodile, came to Crocworld in 1985 at the young age of 85, where he became the father of more than 10,000 babies with his six female co-inhabitants.

Henry, believed to be the oldest known Nile crocodile in captivity, looks forward to more years of relaxation and leisure, welcoming the many guests to this wonderful animal sanctuary.

In 2017, www.oldest.org listed Henry the Crocodile as the second oldest crocodile in the world. A crocodile named Mr. Freshie took first place, he was 140 years old when he died in 2010.
