The new Inside Lift planes

South Africa’s New National Airline Lift has opened online reservations for two-route flights from Johannesburg to Cape Town and from Johannesburg to George, starting on 10 December.

Lift is a collaboration between Global Aviation, Kulula founder Gidon Novick, and former Uber executive Jonathan Ayache.

The new airline offers South African travelers more flexibility by allowing them to change or cancel tickets without penalty.

This flexible operating model is accompanied by technological advancements that enabled Lift to offer a better customer experience.

Novic said that they do not plan to participate in a price war with Kulula and FlySafair, but will instead focus on greater comfort and a better experience than their competitors.

Lift will initially operate three Airbus A320 aircraft with routes between Johannesburg and Cape Town, and Johannesburg and George.

Cabin crew and ground crew will be outfitted by online fashion retailer Superbalist and travelers will enjoy a Vida e Caffè coffee on morning flights.

The afternoon flights will include a tasting of wines from a selection of the best wineries in South Africa.
