Solskjaer confirms Manchester United duo missed training
It’s safe to say that Manchester United have had their fair share of struggles in front of goal in recent weeks. While the defense has been solid for the most part, the goals have been hard to come by.
One big reason for this is that Anthony Martial is struggling to stay in shape. Only last season did it seem like the Frenchman was the long-term solution as a forward for the Red Devils. He was the club’s top scorer with 23 goals. But he has failed to match those high standards this season, scoring just 7 goals in 36 appearances.
On the other hand, Edinson Cavani has been seen as his deadliest striker on the field. But his recent injuries have kept him on the sidelines for a considerable period of time.
The Uruguayan is also linked to a departure from the club at the end of the season. And as Football Insider reported, he is willing to accept a massive pay cut on his current contract to join Argentine giants Boca Juniors.

Cavani’s departure would be a blow to Manchester United
Even at 34, Cavani has shown that he can make an impact in the Premier League and is averaging a goal every 153 minutes in the English top flight. And while he may no longer be a regular starter, he’s a brilliant backup option for any team.
Therefore, his departure would be a massive blow to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team, especially considering the fact that they have battled for goals this season.
As a result, the club can be expected to add a new striker in the summer transfer window. And a couple of massive names like Harry Kane and Erling Haaland have been linked to the club in recent months. Therefore, it promises to be a very interesting summer for the Red Devils.
