The availability of the Manchester United star for West Bromwich Albion’s next game is in doubt after he was put into isolation.
Manchester United have not made the start to the season that they would have liked. While they have achieved some impressive victories, such as those against Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig, overall things have been quite disappointing.
As it stands, he ranks 14th in the Premier League with 10 points from the first 7 games. Saturday’s game against West Bromwich Albion gives them a chance to get things back on track. However, it seems they will be without a man.
Edinson Cavani has been forced to isolate himself after there was a COVID outbreak within Uruguay’s squad, according to reports in El Observador. The Atlético de Madrid duo of Luis Suárez and Lucas Torreira are two high-profile names who have tested positive. Several staff members have reportedly done the same as well.

The report goes on to claim that the players are currently isolated in a hotel in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo.
The forward has been in really good shape lately. After opening his account for United with a late goal against Everton, he also scored goals for Uruguay during the international break. Although, it is worth mentioning that he was sent off against Brazil after accidentally stepping on Richarlison’s shin.
As things stand, it seems unlikely that Cavani will travel back to England and then play for Manchester United on Saturday. Although the possibility of that happening cannot be completely ruled out, the club probably would not take the risk.
On paper, they should have enough to score all three of the match even without the Uruguayan. But if we have learned anything in recent weeks, it is that Solskjaer’s team can bring surprises, both negative and positive.
