FA President Greg Clarke admitted that it is difficult to see football fans enter the field any time soon.

Both the Premier League and the EFL are currently suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Aston Villa last played almost two months ago, Dean Smith’s team suffered a 4-0 loss to Leicester City in front of more than 32,000 fans at King Power Stadium on March 9.

The wolves, meanwhile, tied 1-1 at Olympiakos three days later in a Europa League closed-door tie.

And clubs are warned that they will have to get used to playing in empty stadiums for the foreseeable future.

Under the ‘project restart’ proposal, the remaining 92 top-tier matches would take place on eight to 10 wards across the country with no side playing at home.

Clarke wrote in a letter to the FA Governing Council: “The reality is that we just don’t know how things are going to turn out.

“But with the social distancing established for some time, we face substantial changes in the entire soccer ecosystem.

“For example, it is difficult to foresee crowds of fans, who are the soul of the game, who will return to the matches any time soon.”

Clarke also revealed that, due to current uncertainty, the FA was forced into a “sensible” budget cut of £ 75 million.

“In the worst case, this would be necessary over the next four years to make up for a deficit of £ 300 million,” he said of the budget cut.

Lorius Karius has terminated his contract with Besiktas amid reports linking the Liverpool goalkeeper to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Karius had been locked in a bitter dispute with his loan side for unpaid wages and Turkish club director Erda Torunogullari revealed last month that the 26-year-old wanted to return to England.

In the midst of the dispute, the wolves were named as a potential destination in the next transfer window. Backup Option John Ruddy has no contract at the end of the season and has been linked to a move to the Turkish capital.

It was even claimed in Turkey that an agreement had already been agreed for Karius to sign for Wolves in July.

Karius has now taken the bold step of canceling his Besiktas deal, confirming the situation in a statement posted on social media.

He wrote (via Liverpool Echo): “Hello everyone, today I ended my contract with BESIKTAS.

“It is a shame that it comes to an end, but you should know that I have tried everything to resolve this situation without any problem.”

“I was very patient for months telling the board over and over. The same thing happened last year.

“Unfortunately, they have not tried to solve this situational problem and even rejected my suggestion to help by taking a cut in wages.”

“It is important to me to know that I really enjoyed playing for this club. BESIKTAS can be proud to have such passionate supporters behind them that they always provide incredible support.”

“You always supported me in good times and bad and I will always remember you in the best way!

“I also want to thank all my teammates, coaches, including everyone who works for the club. They welcomed me with open arms from day one.

“Thank you very much! Champ Besiktas.”
