Just two months after leaving the Isibaya drama series, Jessica Nkosi and veteran actor Menzi Ngubane have found a new home on Mzansi Magic’s most-watched show, The Queen.

Nkosi, who played the lovable heroine Qondi in Isibaya, had told City Press that he would be leaving for greener pastures.

Ngubane, who played Judas, killed his character in the drama series.

The Queen currently has an audience of over 2 million.

On Saturday, the producer confirmed in a statement that Nkosi and Ngubane were among the new five faces to be featured in the fifth season, which promises to be full of surprises.

“We will introduce a new family in the fifth season, a father and two daughters, who will be a thorn in someone’s flesh.” said the show’s executive producer, Connie Ferguson.

Although it didn’t reveal much about their characters, it did reveal the fact that Nkosi and Ngubane would play the father and daughter characters.

Ferguson added: “Prepare to be taken on an emotional roller coaster. We are very excited about the talent that will be joining the show. We can confirm that we have five new leads on board, and one comeback that we like to call the guy back, that’s SK Khoza. “

The Fergusons Films has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons lately, with an exodus of actors who apparently left a bad mark.

The last one is Dineo Langa, who was allegedly recently fired. However, Connie and Shona Ferguson have refuted the claims, saying that Langa’s contract was not terminated since she was still on the payroll until the end of this month.

Langa has supported mom. Shona, the co-executive producer for The Queen, admitted that there was a negative narrative fueled by some of the people who left the show.

“I guess that’s a testament to how invested people are in our characters and our stories, and most importantly in the show itself, The Queen.

The reality is that, in the nature of storytelling, especially in long form, the characters come and go. Some are designed to stay for the foreseeable future, and others to serve a specific story arc, go out, and perhaps come back at a later stage, depending on how the story unfolds.

This is the case with all shows, and it is not exclusive to The Queen, ”he said.

Last month, the Fergusons voiced their concerns and frustrations to their cast members and crew about how the Covid-19 national blockade had affected the shooting schedule and that they were running out of funds, but it appears that MultiChoice heard their yell at the contract Fergusons for a new season

Connie welcomed the big news. “We are very grateful for the opportunity to produce another season of The Queen.

This show has been a blessing to many, the cast and crew. In an industry where creatives are struggling to work, we are honored to be in a position where we can employ nearly 100 crew, cast and production personnel.

“What we do is not easy, as there are so many expectations from everyone and it is simply not possible to please everyone,” he said.

Mzansi Magic’s head of public relations and advertising Philly Kubheka said they were excited that one of the channel’s most beloved soap operas featured South African legends that would add more authenticity and flavor to the story.

“One of the reasons this imaginative South African drama series captured the hearts and minds of Mzansi Magic’s audience is because of its diverse and impeccable talent,” said Kubheka.
