JOHANNESBURG – One hundred and thirty-nine more people have died in South Africa after contracting the coronavirus.
The Eastern Cape recorded the highest number of deaths with 124 in the last 24-hour cycle.
It has raised the country’s death toll to 22,206.

During the last day, 4,116 new infections were also detected, bringing the number of confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak to 814,000.
There are more than 47,000 active cases that the government is aware of at this time.
