Captain Raj Rooplal of the Durban Accident Combat Unit told eNCA that the car may have been shot.

“Our initial investigation indicated that there may have been human error involved in the accident, but we have since established that there is a bullet entry into the vehicle with bullet debris still in the tail light section of the vehicle. Therefore, it is taking a different direction in terms of research. “

Rooplal said a forensic investigation was ongoing.

Accident

According to KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services spokesman Robert McKenzie, eight people were traveling in a light motor vehicle when the accident occurred around 06:00.

“There has been a serious and tragic accident. Paramedics are still on the scene and treated a person for serious injury, “said McKenzie.

No other vehicle was involved in the accident. “Somehow, a single vehicle lost control and rolled over to the side.”

McKenzie said multiple ambulance services arrived on the scene to find the eight people trapped inside the wreckage.

They were removed with the jaws of life, but only one person survived the accident and was rushed to the hospital.

The Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula, sent his condolences to the afflicted and wished the wounded a full recovery.
