The cabinet appoints permanent executive directors for Prasa and Correos in difficulties

The cabinet has announced new CEOs for the South African Passenger Rail Agency and the South African Post Office, two struggling state entities that have faced high turnover of senior executives in recent years.

Zolani Kgosietsile Matthews has been appointed Managing Director of the Prasa group, while Nomkhita Mona is the new Postmaster.

At Prasa, Matthews will replace Acting CEO Thandeka Mabija, the group’s executive for human capital management, who was appointed Acting CEO in October last year. Matthews is a board member of the South African Independent Communications Authority, its highest decision-making body, and has served on several boards.

Mona, CEO of the Nelson Mandela Bay Chamber of Business and a former CEO of the South African Forestry Company (SAFCOL), will replace Acting CEO Reneilwe Langa at the post office.
