The Arsenal dressing room is divided by the retirement of Ozil

The Telegraph says there is a split in Arsenal’s locker room over Mesut Ozil’s retirement.

The German has not played for the club since March and was also not registered to play any competitive matches for them this season.

He’s been out of the game for much of the season, but the Gunners can register players again in the next transfer window.

They could add him to their squad at that point, but Mikel Arteta just has to make that decision.

The Spaniard has seen how his team has lacked creativity and there have been calls from outside the club to give Ozil another chance.

The report says that senior members of the team have not been impressed by the removal of the German midfielder, and want him to be called up when registrations open again next month.

Arteta has a very large team, and that is why he had to eliminate Ozil and people like Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

But the club’s senior players want both players to be called up to the team, as their experience could be valuable in the second half of the campaign.
