Compared to its younger siblings, the GR Yaris also benefits from an improved suspension system. Highlights include highly responsive shocks, extra-stiff front MacPherson struts, as well as newly developed knuckles and stiffer bushings. The rear torsion bar design has also been replaced by a stiffer and more sophisticated multi-link system that promises much better handling and traction, especially at higher speeds. Meanwhile, large 356mm two-piece vented discs with four-piston calipers provide stopping power up front, with 297mm vented discs and two-piston calipers at the rear.
The GR Yaris cabin is equally sporty and highlights include a small-diameter leather-wrapped steering wheel, short-throw shifter, aluminum pedals, and premium sport front seats. The instrument binnacle houses large speedometer and tachometer dials that are located on either side of the 4.2-inch multi-information display that offers drivers a variety of digital readings including turbo pressure and gear shift gauges.
As we said before, the local introduction is planned for mid-2021. Detailed specifications, prices and information for the model range will be published closer to the date.
