Suspects beheaded following the death of suspected Durban drug lord Teddy Mafia

The alleged drug lord Yaganathan Pillay, known as ‘Teddy Mafia’, was found wounded, taken to hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival.

JOHANNESBURG – Suspected drug lord Yaganathan Pillay, known as ‘Teddy Mafia’, was shot and killed in Chatsworth, KwaZulu-Natal, on Monday.

According to police, Pillay told her daughter that she expected visitors.

The daughter then left him and went to the back of the house where she heard gunshots shortly after.

Pillay was found injured, rushed to hospital, and pronounced dead upon arrival.

Two other people have been beheaded in front of their home and a large crowd has gathered.

Police Jay Naicker said: “The community then attacked the two men who were allegedly involved, they were beheaded and arrested on the road. When the police arrive on the scene to attend to reports of a shooting, the community opens fire on the police. There was a confrontation between the police and members of the community ”.
