Suspect killed while stealing firearms from police at Durban police station

Durban – A suspect who attacked a police officer and stole his service pistol was killed in the confrontation.

According to KZN police spokesman Brigadier Jay Naicker, the suspect, who is believed to be in his forties, is presumed to have arrived at the Point police station around 6.15am.

“The suspect requested an affidavit form. When he was given the form, he attacked a police officer and stole his service pistol.

“The suspect tried to steal his firearm from another policeman and was fatally injured during the confrontation.”

In another incident, a suspect allegedly linked to the murder of two police officers and the attempted murder of another was shot and killed during a shootout with police in Botha’s Hill.

According to the police, they entered the suspect’s room, after which he opened fire on the members, who responded by shooting him.
